Help support emergency fuel assistance in Vermont's Deerfield Valley and have some dam fun doing it this August 2015. This is a fast out-and-back 13.1 mile (half-marathon) course that starts out at the Harriman Dam and mostly follows the old Hoot, Toot & Whistle rail bed along the west side of Harriman Reservoir, the largest body of water entirely within Vermont's borders. The shores of this scenic lake are undeveloped and unbroken. Amazing views abound, especially as you cross the 215 foot high and 1250 foot long dam. Both runners and walkers are welcome! All proceeds benefit the Deerfield Valley Community Cares' Fuel Assistance Fund. This year the event is sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Rotary Club. There is a discount for Fifty States Half Marathon Club members, however you may choose to bypass utilizing the discount since the proceeds go to a good cause.
